Q. Can I make a donation?  Yes please make your checks out to Switchback Challenge-MVCC at PO Box 598, Meadow Vista, CA  95722

 

Q. I would like to run the race with my baby jogger.  Is this permitted? No.  The Sugar Pine Mountain Trail is narrow, rugged with steep accents and descents. For both participant safety and insurance reasons, baby joggers and strollers are not permitted in the Switchback Challenge race.

 

Q. Can kids run / walk in this event? A child 10 years of age or older may participate in this event.  However Adult supervision is highly recommended due to the intensity of the course.

 

Q. Do you provide babysitting services while my husband and I participate? We regret that we cannot provide any child care services at the event due to insurance reasons.

 

Q. Can I run the race with my dog? Due to safety and insurance reasons, dogs are strictly prohibited from the course (except for Seeing Eye dogs).  Please abide by this rule.

 

Q. My group wants to volunteer at the Switchback Challenge.  Who should I contact?  Please contact John Arrabit by Email or by phone at (530) 401-0467

 

Q. I registered for the Switchback Challenge and now I realized I can’t attend that day because I am sick / have another activity / am going out of town / etc. Can I get a refund? We have a no refund, no transfer, no credit policy similar to many running events, concerts and other large events in the area.  You are welcome to pick up your t-shirt after the event.  Please contact us to make those arrangements.

 

Q. Are walkers permitted? Definitely! Walkers are welcome, we ask that you are courteous to the runners and move to the right if asked to be passed.

 

Q. Do you have water stations: Yes, we will have water stations along every mile, and first aid stations at Start/Finish, mile 2, and mile 4.

 

Q. Do you have portable toilets on the course? No.  Portable potties will be located at the Start/Finish staging area.

 

Q. Does this event offer chip timing? No

 

Q. What is a Sport-Teck shirt? They are light weight, with a roomy, athletic cut.  The Sport-Tech T-shirt is 3.8 ounces, 100% polyester, that controls sweat like a champ.

 

Q. Is there race day registration? Yes.  It will cost $49.00, and shirts will be made available first come first serve.

 

Q. Can I wear an ipod during the event? For safety reasons, ipods & headphones are strongly discouraged.

 

Q. May I have a friend pick up my bib at packet pick up?  Yes
